*SP Precillia Erriom Awarded Best Female Police Officer of the Year 2024 At ORAN 4th Anniversary

In a prestigious ceremony held to commemorate the 4th anniversary of the Online Reporters Association of Nigeria (ORAN), Superintendent Precillia Erriom was honored as the Best Female Police Officer of the Year 2024. The event, which took place at the LCCI Conference And Exhibition Centre Lagos, brought together prominent figures from the media, law enforcement, and civil society.

The anniversary celebration featured a lecture on “Positive effects of digitalization in New era journalism ,” highlighting the essential role of collaboration between journalists and law enforcement.

SP Erriom, received the award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the Nigerian police and her efforts in advocating for women’s rights within the force. Over the past year, she has led several initiatives aimed at improving the safety and wellbeing of women and children in Nigeria.

In her acceptance speech, Erriom expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, “This award is not just for me, but for all the dedicated women in law enforcement who work tirelessly to serve and protect our communities. Together, we can make a difference.”

The event concluded with a panel discussion featuring various stakeholders in the media and law enforcement sectors, focusing on the challenges and opportunities in fostering a safer society through collaborative efforts.

The Online Reporters Association of Nigeria, which aims to promote ethical journalism and strengthen the relationship between reporters and the police, continues to play a vital role in enhancing public trust in law enforcement through advocacy and community engagement initiatives.
